Mayor & Council

Meet Our Village of Clive Council

2025-2029 Clive Council

Bio:
I’m Luci Henry. My husband, Garth, and I have proudly called Clive home while raising our two daughters. I’ve served on the Village of Clive Council for 18 years—eight as Mayor and ten as Deputy Mayor—and have over 24 years of community service. My volunteer work includes leading the Clive School Parent Council for 12 years, serving as a trustee (and now Board Chair) for Wolf Creek Public Schools, and supporting local initiatives such as the Clive Library, FCSS, FunFest, Lions Bingo, and 4-H.

I’m passionate about collaboration, transparency, and community connection. My goal is to strengthen relationships between Council, staff, and residents while fostering meaningful dialogue that leads to positive change. I believe in inclusivity, empowerment, and education that uplifts families and builds confidence. As we continue learning from Canada’s Indigenous history, I’m committed to reconciliation and healing that strengthen our community. I look forward to serving Clive with dedication—protecting our small-town spirit while encouraging thoughtful growth and innovation.

Bio:
My husband, Bill, and I have called Clive home for 33 years, and it’s been a wonderful place to raise our two children. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed volunteering with local organizations and serving in roles such as treasurer and secretary. I spent seven years as the librarian at our public library, where I loved encouraging youth to read and explore, and for the past decade, I’ve worked at VJV Grill in Ponoka, the last five years as kitchen supervisor.

Through my work and community involvement, I’ve gained valuable experience and a deep appreciation for the people who make Clive such a special place. It’s been an honour to serve as Councillor for the past four years, and I’m committed to continuing that work—supporting local businesses, building partnerships, and helping our village grow while keeping the strong sense of community that makes Clive so vibrant.

Bio:

I have 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as a corrosion specialist, where I’ve managed budgeting, asset planning, training, customer service, and data analysis. Through extensive leadership training, I’ve learned how to develop and support people by recognizing their strengths, setting goals, and building effective teams. With strong safety awareness and a logical, common-sense approach, I take pride in problem-solving and making thoughtful, informed decisions.

I’ve lived in the Clive area since 2004 and moved into town in 2016, where my wife, Ayla, and I have become active members of the community. I enjoy helping with events at the library and connecting with neighbours through local gatherings. My core values are rooted in family, community, and collaboration. I’m passionate about serving on Council because I care deeply about Clive’s future and want to help guide its growth—ensuring it remains a strong, welcoming place for everyone, especially for the next generation growing up here.

Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 6:30 PM in Council Chambers in the Village Office. Anyone may attend the Council Meetings.

Procedure For Addressing Council:

  • All requests and/or presentations to Council are to be done in writing (by email, mail, hand-delivered or fax) by noon on the Thursday prior to a Council meeting. Once you have made your request to attend as a delegation, you will be advised of the date and time of your appointment at a Council meeting.
  • Any documents you have that will aid Council in making informed decisions would be appreciated. These should be left at the municipal office the week prior to your meeting with Council so that copies can be made for the agenda packages.
  • At the meeting you attend, Council members will listen to your presentation and ask any questions of you to help them clearly understand. A decision may or may not be made at that meeting. Depending on the request, it may be added to the next agenda to give administration sufficient time to research, if necessary.
